I have the Listeners Bible in the King James Version and have been so impressed with the way Max MacLean reads the text making the beauty of 17th century text so understandable and accessible. After listening to it I felt that there was no need to go for more modern versions for greater clarity since the understanding is made clear by the skill of the narrator. I have also listened to the NIV version of the Bible, but in my opinion the reading of the text is spoiled by the music in the background!
