Tremendous! I have been listening as I drive. It is MUCH more productive than listening to traffic reports! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to gain insight into God's Word. Talk about the perfect audio book!

The reading is good, and clear, and is especially good with dialog. The background music is intentionally unobtrusive, but is much the same throughout, regardless of the scene. Background music works great at important moments in the biblical narrative (e.g., God's call to Abraham in Genesis 12, the Passover, etc.), but not for genealogies and laws. If this were re-edited, adding some space/silence in between chapters would be helpful. The reading does a good job of drawing the individual stories to their conclusion...but sometimes the next chapter number rushes in on the heels of the preceding chapter. Thanks for this ministry. This allows me to do a lot of hands-free reading and redeem the time.

I've enjoyed listening to McLean's reading the scriptures for years. He keeps the text interesting. I recently purchased the newer ESV version and have found some subtle changes, meaning that Max's skill as a reader has gotten even better.
