A powerful stage performance that takes you inside the story of Jesus.
“Compelling…aims for an unobtrusive presence, letting the words and the vivid biblical characters say what they have to say…revealing the events of this earth-shattering life.”
Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune
“I’ve always found a good deal of the Bible either baffling or impenetrable. Only after seeing Mark’s Gospel…did I realize what had been missing. It comes down to a single word: performance.”
Hedy Weiss, Chicago Sun-Times
“An extraordinarily gifted Christian artist...I felt like I was there–with Jesus–in the greatest drama of all time.”
Charles W. Colson
Mark’s Gospel is believed to be the earliest written account of the life of Jesus. As Peter preached the gospel, Mark traveled with him and wrote down Peter’s testimony. So what we have in the Gospel according to St. Mark are the eyewitness accounts of the Savior as experienced by Peter, Jesus’ first disciple.
Mark is the shortest and most action oriented gospel. He tells the story with relentless energy. It is written to a non-believing audience whose interest was not about theology, but power. It was as if they asked Peter, “I’m not interested in what Jesus taught. I want to know what he did.” Mark’s Gospel is the written account of Peter’s response: “OK, I’ll tell you exactly what he did, but sit down because this will ‘blow you away.’”
Based on the New International Version of the Bible, this word-for-word presentation of the Gospel of Mark is recorded live. Chapter points are provided for easy access to the Book of Mark. The program is perfect for group or home Bible study, churches, school libraries, and home schooling. 94 minutes/color

Though I have not yet received the DVD, the YouTube videos are outstanding. Max's telling of the story is powerful. The audio from the stage version is, for me, far better than the read version.

An excellent presentation! His interpretation of the text is most helpful, and his speed of presentation matches the speed of Mark's story-telling technique. Thus, he really succeeds at giving you a "feel" for this gospel.

Mark's presentation is absolutely amazing! I purchased Mark and Genesis and have shown it to anyone that will watch even for two minutes! I have purchased one as a gift and plan on purchasing more as well. I would LOVE to see him in person.

Excellent...now I want to see it in person! I agree with Gail that there are a few times when Max speaks too rapidly, but that did not detract from the overall performance in my opinion. The set, lighting and sound effects were also great but I do recall a few times when the sounds should have been mixed a bit lower so as not to interfere with Max's words. I also agree regarding the shipping expense. However in my case that caused me to get the total purchase over $50 so we could get free shipping. I strongly urge you to consider adding a USPS Priority shipping option which should be <$5 for a single DVD.

I have seen Max McClean in performance twice and enjoyed his work very much. I was disappointed with 2 things in regard to the dvd- first, I believe cost of shipping was too expensive and it still took a week to receive the product. 2nd- I listened to the first two chapters of Mark and found that he speaks extremely fast- I'm very familiar with the gospel, but I found it difficult to take in and enjoy. I purchased one to give away and I'm concerned for the person that they might not be able to process it. I watched both the clip of the performance, and then listened to the portion that was advertised as the dvd. I purchased the product because the "listening clip" seemed a much slower pace- I was concerned the other was too fast. I haven't listened to the whole dvd yet- perhaps the pace gets better. I hope the person I give it to will give it a shot. Having said all this, I still think the work Max McClean does is tremendous!

I did not get this first, I received Genesis and after watching Genesis I was looking for Mark's Gospel. When they told me that there was a delay in getting the CD because of the demand I could beleive it, because it is truely a great reinactment of the gospel according to Mark. I want my friend's to see it, but I don't think they will appreciate this as much as I did. I will let them watch anyway, just so i can see it again. Great job, God Bless Mark.
