Download Options (you may download any or all of these formats after purchase):

Option 1 (64k bit rate) contains a track for each chapter of each book of the Bible. It is easiest to find specific passages with this format. This option has larger files, takes the longest to download, and has our best audio quality.

Option 2 (32k bit rate) contains a track for each book of the Bible (except longer books, which are divided into three or more tracks). This is a faster download with smaller files. This is best for slower internet connections.

Option 3 (the audiobook version, NIV 1984 only) can only be used in iTunes. This contains chapter points on each track which allow you to advance forward or back in a particular track. It is the file size and download speed of Option 1, and the audio quality of Option 2.

Unzip files after downloading

Once your files are downloaded, the folder must be unzipped in order to begin using the files.

The MP3 download will contain 1-4 zipped folders (depending on which product you purchase).

  •     So that you can easily find the files, create a new folder in which to transfer them.
  •     Unzip the files using the method required by your operating system.

Files can now be listened to, imported into your audio software, and synced with other devices.

Please note that the entire Listener’s Bible is 75+ hours long and contains 65+ disks in the CD format. Download time, disk space needed, and time to transfer to other devices will be significant. High-speed internet access will likely be required to download the large Option 1 or audiobook files. Dial-up may be able to download the Option 2 format.

You have five attempts available to download each file. Do not attempt to use a download accelerator; this will use up your five attempts prematurely. If for some reason you are unable to retrieve the files in these five attempts, please contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Listening

To listen to a particular file, make sure you have unzipped the folder. Then double-click the track you would like to hear.

The Listener’s Bible download (once unzipped) contains many individual files. The files should be in the order in which they appear in the Bible. If the books don’t appear in the proper order, check the sorting and labeling functions in your folder or audio software. (For iTunes, see our FAQ section for further assistance.)

To listen to several tracks sequentially, without clicking on the next track each time, import the files into the media library of audio software like Windows Media Player, Google Play, iTunes, etc. You may need to create a playlist for sequential listening. Follow the instructions provided by your device or audio software and contact them with any further questions regarding this issue.

Other available formats

The Listener’s Bible is also available for download as an audiobook from iTunes and Audible.com, however most customers prefer the listening flexibility offered by other formats available through our website. Reviews on iTunes’ and Audible’s websites also report occasional download problems. These problems are entirely with the retail providers’ systems, not due to the product licensed to them by The Listener’s Bible.

The only downloadable product at this time that contains written text as well as The Listener’s Bible audio is the GoBible app (King James Version only). Our audio is also used online by both Bible Gateway (NIV, ESV, and KJV) and YouVersion (NIV and KJV), which provide written text. However, these two versions are only available for streaming with web access, not for download.
